Build a Team for the Hike Against Hunger

Teams are an important part of the Hike Against Hunger. Anyone can build a team: friends, family, neighbors, co-workers. Gather everyone you know to hike together and have fun! Remember, there are awards for the team with the most members and the best team spirit! Also, the first 300 people to register get a free Hike Against Hunger t-shirt!

  • Ask them to walk with you or build a team of their own.
  • Encourage each of them to ask at least one other person they know to join the team.

About the Park

Mine Falls Park is a 325 acre park located near the heart of the City on the Nashua River. The name "Mine Falls" derives from the low quality lead which was mined from the islands below the Falls in the 1700s. A centerpiece of the park is the three-mile long, man-made canal built in the early 1800s to power the Nashua Mills. The park is great for hiking or biking and has 20 miles of multi-use trails that are on mostly level terrain.

2006 Hike Against Hunger Summary
For our fourth annual Hike on June 4, 2006 we raised $28,000. Despite the poor weather conditions over 200 hikers arrived at Mine Falls Park to support Operation Frontline. Panera Bread treated hikers to a pre-hike buffet of tasty Panera breakfast goodies. Local radio station 95.7 WZID supplied music. Kids of all ages enjoyed face and cookie painting, games, and making their own trail mix to take on their hike.
