Who We AreShare Our Strength, one of the nation's leading organizations in ending childhood hunger, and the New Hampshire Food Bank partnered in 2003 to offer Operation Frotline (OFL). OFL is a national nutritional education and financial literacy program designed to combat hunger by providing short-term and long-term solutions to hunger in a fun, interactive cooking-based format. Since OFL's inception in 2000, the New Hampshire OFL program has served over 900 residents by providing over 90 class series and workshops. |

How We Do ItNew Hampshire Operation Frontline offers 7 different curricula to a diverse population: Eating Right: Adults with families learn about a balanced diet, food budgeting, basic cooking skills, food safety, and exercise The Power of Eating Right: Offered to teens who are at risk of hunger Kids Up Front: At-risk school aged children learn about nutrition and cooking through interactive and fun activities Side by Side: School aged children and parents come together in the kitchen and learn about basic nutrition and family eating practices Step Up to Eating Right: Pregnant or parenting teens and young adults learn about their special dietary needs through hands-on cooking Eating Well: Adults living with HIV/AIDS or their caregivers gain cooking, nutrition, food safety, and food budgeting skills Saving Smart, Spending Smart: Adults learn basic financial planning and knowledge froma financial professional |

Who We Work WithOFL partners with local social service agencies to target at-risk participants. An integral part of Share Our Strength's OFL program is the mobilization of culinary and financial professionals. Volunteer chefs, nutritionist, and financial advisors are mobilized to use their professional skills teaching individuals the basics of making healthy food choices on a low-income budget. Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds, including Registered Dieticians, nutrition or dietetic interns, executive chefs, culinary students, and line cooks. Past NH volunteers include: |

How You Can HelpDonateDonations of food or grocery store gift certificates for the classes and participant take home bags are accepted and appreciated. Other items that are needed include cooking supplies for in-class cooking and participant graduation gifts. Click to see a list of our commonly needed items. You many also make an online donation designating funds for Operation Frontline Program in the notes.
