Food DrivesVolunteer to conduct a food drive. Nutrition is a growing concern and we are constantly searching for new ways to provide our registered agencies with a diverse and healthy selection of products. You might think small or medium sized donations don't matter to us when we receive thousands of pounds of donated food from local bakeries, grocery stores and food distributors each week. This is entirely wrong- your donation does matter! Whether you donate 5 or 500 pounds of food; every pound we receive helps. Individuals, producers and distributors can make a very valuable donation by sharing their food supply with us. We have walk-in and drive-in coolers and freezers to store the food, and our fleet of trucks are refrigerated and dock-height for ease of pick-up if your donation is too large to bring to our warehouse. Our inventory software provides accountability for tracking of products, so donors can learn exactly where their product goes. Please visit our Host Your Own Food Drive page to learn more about food drives and how you can get started. Warehouse Volunteers
After a food drive, we need volunteers to sort the donations. This process involves separating usable from unusable food items and then sorting these items into categories. Besides sorting the donated food, tasks can include but are not limited to inventory count, order picking, organizing the shopping area, coolers and freezers, and helping our registered agencies load their vehicles. Occasionally, we also need help from volunteers with special tasks around the warehouse. This can vary from painting a room, to helping keep the warehouse clean, to installing or reorganizing furniture. These tasks are not always available, so please contact us to see if we have anything planned for the near future. Special EventsThe NH Food Bank is fortunate to benefit from many events throughout the year. Most of these events are planned on our behalf by individuals or organizations- visit our Upcoming Events page to see a list of future events. With a small staff of less than 25, we often can use the support of volunteers to help at these events. Tasks can be anything from handing out literature about the Food Bank, to helping event vendors set up their booths, to putting up event posters around Manchester. These opportunities are not always available, but if you are interested in helping with events, please let us know! If you would like to plan your own event to collect food or raise money (or both!) for the NH Food Bank, please call Erin at 603-669-9725 or email her at

The NH Food Bank's newest program, Recipe for Success, is highly dependent on volunteers. During the planting, growing, and harvesting seasons, we can often use teams of volunteers in our Production Garden to help keep our produce healthy. Operation Frontline has many opportunities for volunteers, which are described in greater length on the Recipe for Success page of this website. Anyone who is interested in volunteering for any roles at the NH Food Bank should contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 603-669-9725 or
