A food drive to benefit the Hooksett Food Pantry will be held Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Robies Country Store and Cafe, 9 Riverside St. The drive is sponsored by One More Cup Coffee.“One More Cup Coffee (and) Robie’s Country Store & Café … are sponsoring the food drive for the Hooksett Food Pantry. We are sponsoring it and Robies is hosting it because they have the café and restaurant end of that. We’re spearheading the food drive and supplying all the things that are going to happen for people who are going to bring in the non-perishable food items,” said Ken Hoffman co-founder and CEO of One More Cup Coffee.

Hoffman said that they were working with the Hooksett Food Pantry, who will also be there during the event. He said that this isn’t the first time they have done a food drive; they did one at Wilson’s Farm in Litchfield over the summer.

“That one benefitted the New Hampshire Food Banks and we raised over $1,000 in monetary donations and received a lot of food products donated. That’s why we’re doing again for the holiday season,” Hoffman said.

Hoffman said that the food pantry shies away from anything that has an expiration date on it. “They don’t want to deal with perishables, so bottom line, they’re looking for canned products and pasta,” Hoffman said.

One More Cup Coffe started about a year and a half ago, is based in Seabrook and and retails coffee from such outlets as Robies and McKinnon’s in Seabrook.“We’re not associated with any of the big coffee companies,” Hoffman said.
